ZINE WORKSHOP
MAKE-A-ZINE!
INSTRUCTOR: JACQUELINE VIOLA MOULTON
Come and make zines with us!
Zines are a historically rooted method of activist printing, messaging, and creating — a beautifully divergent way of communicating, creating, and archiving your ideas, images, and views on yourself and the world! Zines utilize collage, print-making, writing, images, drawing, and whatever else you can imagine. This class will be an interactive time to create and explore the world of zines in a safe, welcoming, and expressive environment. Together we will explore different genres within zine-making and will make lots of zines together! This class is for anyone looking to play and explore their creativity - no skill set required! Come and make zines with us! Recommended for ages 13 through adult. Younger students are encouraged to come with an adult or a friend.
MATERIALS
I will have most everything you need to make zines - BUT if you have these items feel free / please bring them: sharpie, scissors, an exacto knife, magazines (and/or anything YOU would like to do a collage zine with), a pencil, pen, tape. I do have these things, so don’t go purchase them just for this, but if you have them, bring them along - you can build your “zine-making” kit as we go through class too! Reach out with any questions at all! Jmoulton@idsva.edu
