CLASS PROPOSAL
Thank you for your interest in teaching your art at Cottonwood! Our top priority when selecting a new class is to make sure that it is not duplicating any current or planned offering here, as we are careful to ensure that none of our instructors are in competition with each other for the same students. Take a moment to look at our offerings before your apply. Even if you don’t see your intended subject, there may be a class in the works that will displace the need for your class idea—please don’t take it personally if we aren’t able to add your idea at this time.
Almost all Cottonwood classes are either an 8 hour, 4 week format (i.e. four Tuesdays in April, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) or a one-day-workshop, usually between 2 and 4 hours. You may add a materials fee if you plan to provide your students with some or all of the supplies for a class, or we will include your recommended supply list with the class description. We are not accepting pottery, acrylic pouring, or creative writing class proposals at this time.
Someone will contact you via email within five business days regarding your completed proposal form. Typically we’ll schedule an in-person interview, during which we will discuss setting the class price, policies, and dates. If your proposal is accepted, we require six week’s lead time before the start date of your class for marketing purposes.
After completing the form below, please email three to five high resolution photos (300 dpi) to be used for marketing and print purposes to classes@cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com with your name and the words “Class Proposal” in the subject line. Landscape oriented images work best with our website template. Any questions regarding this proposal or the Education Program at Cottonwood may be sent to this email address as well.
Don’t forget to send your photos to classes@cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com with your name and the words “Class Proposal” in the subject line!
