DRAWING WHAT YOU SEE 2
DRAWING WHAT YOU SEE | LEVEL 2
INSTRUCTOR: JACQUELINE VIOLA MOULTON
Drawing What You See, Level 2 is a further exploration into the foundational art of drawing. This class takes the basic skills and principles of drawing and expands upon them in order to learn and practice more advanced skills and methods. We will focus as well on growing the practice of artistic seeing and expression — of taking drawing skills and utilizing them to express the unique way that you, as an artist, see the world. We will do work on abstraction, self-portraits, hands and faces, perspective, realism, and lots of practicing and sketching. We will work to craft a fully finished drawing as well! This class will be an inviting, open, and accepting place to learn together in a low pressure and welcoming environment.
Those who have taken Drawing What You See are encouraged to take this class. This class is also welcome to those who have some drawing experience and feel ready to complete some advanced work. Feel free to check with me if you are not sure. Do not let the word advanced deter you!

MATERIALS
A sketch pad of your choice, as long as it is 9" x 12" (We do a lot of drawing in this class and we use a lot of paper. You don’t need a fancy or thick drawing paper pad at all!)
Graphite sketch pencils (assortment of soft to hard that contains “H” pencils and “B” pencils: ex. 8B - 2H)
Erasers (kneaded eraser, gum eraser)
Sharpener for pencils
A set of charcoal drawing pencils (this is optional! Some pencil sets come with this option already. If we do charcoal in class, I will have some for you to use, and so this is just if you like it and want to practice with charcoal at home!)
In my humble opinion - a mechanical pencil is always great to have around for the every day sketching, but you don’t have to have one of course!
A black Sharpie marker
