ALL THINGS MUST PASS
OPENING: SEPTEMBER 24 | 6 PM TO 9 PM CLOSING: OCTOBER 22
Cottonwood Center for the Arts is proud to present its next juried show, all things must pass, a collection devoted to the study of still life.
Historically a still life painting or photograph is the study of inanimate objects. But, perhaps even more importantly, a key feature of still life artwork is the degree of control that the artist can exercise over the work. Still life painting can be seen to be a relatively pure, even abstract, form of art. In addition, it can be highly personal, and in the case of all things must pass, doesn’t always include the usual fruit-and-chalice subject matter.
