WATERCOLOR + INK, level 3
INSTRUCTOR: ELISA HUGGINS

Prerequisite: Level 3 classes are for those who have completed a minimum of 4 four-week sessions in the last 12 months with Elisa.

In this course, I’ll show you how to create freeform works on paper by tapping into your own intuitive process using prompts and specific tools. We will be exploring watercolor and acrylic ink along with writing tools like pens, markers, colored pencils, and other mark making tools, just to name a few. There will be a lot of play, exploration, and curiosity. And of course, we will talk a little bit about color mixing and design principles as we go about creating our unique composition. You will be provided a kit which you would use for the duration of the class.

There are no judgements or mistakes -- only wonderful happenstance. Our goal is to produce art that is uniquely ours, each discovering our own personal voice and recording it into what I would like to call a personal visual catalogue. But you can make up your own creative title.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

I majored in arts and architecture a few decades ago, but needing to satisfy my curiosity in other fields of the arts, I returned to school and studied digital media and graphic design. I am forever an art student -- learning and improving on my skills.

I get an absolute thrill from the journey that produces a work of art, be it drawing, painting, paper crafting, pottery, digital illustrations, or photography. I love the benefits I get from exploring different media and processes in art-making, and then teaching others what I’ve learned. For me, art-making is good for brain health, emotional wellbeing, physical dexterity, and overall wellness.
