PRINTMAKING 2:
ETCHED CARVINGS WITH INTRICATE DETAILS
INSTRUCTOR: CATALINA STRATIENCO
With this printing method, Dry Point, the image is created by carving the plate with etching tools, inking the plate, and pressing damp paper onto to the plate to pick up the ink. This technique allows the artist to create delicate, complex line work. This method is a new way to expand the printmaking experience and create a level of details that cannot be reproduced with the linocut method. You can bring 5”x7” images that we can use to create original designs. We will also use watercolor and other multimedia to enhance the prints. I will be available to each student to help with the drawings, the designs, and multimedia applications.
