ARTIST CAFE
Cottonwood is excited to host ongoing community discussions exploring the business of art. Local gallery curators, art scene mavens, and artists of all experience levels will have an informal, round table conversation about what it takes to be a professional artist. Please join us and be a part of the discussion!
You can look forward to learning about a diversity of topics from guest presenters, and enjoy coffee and libations, and more exciting surprises. Space is limited—sign up for the date you want ahead of time to reserve your spot!
Artist Test Kitchen will also be quarterly, happening after Café at 3:00…click here to find out more.
We just met last saturday to discuss:
FINISHING DETAILS
You finished your piece—congrats!! Now it’s time to REALLY finish. We discussed the Show Entry Guidelines for Cottonwood shows (they are the same for most galleries!) and how to properly install D-rings and wire, why sawtooth hangers are forbidden, and when it’s appropriate to use other kinds of hanging solutions. If you missed our chat and are in doubt about your own art piece, please feel invited to pose your questions via email: classes@cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com

process your own sales
Intimidated by Venmo, Square, Etsy, sales taxes, or making a DIY website? When does it serve you to have a gallery process your sale vs. doing it yourself? This Café, we’ll demystify these scary topics and talk about how to start small and easy.
