Cottonwood is excited to host ongoing community discussions exploring the business of art. Every second Saturday, local gallery curators, art scene mavens, and artists of all experience levels will have an informal, round table conversation about what it takes to be a professional artist.

April’s topic is, “Marketing: Self Promotion and Authenticity.” Promoting ourselves is one of the most uncomfortable parts of being a professional artist. We like to work alone, we like to finish our thoughts before new ones come in, and we like our work to speak for itself. This Café, we'll dive into letting go of the discomfort, being real with our audience, and inviting the world to our door. Social media is the focus, but not the end...bring your notebook and your input!

After our chat, you are invited to linger for as long as you like for networking and taking in the current art on display. Coffee will be served.

If you have knowledge and experience to share or if you have a particular topic you'd like the group to delve into, please email Annie Pieper at classes@cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com.
