ACRYLIC LANDSCAPES 2
acrylic landscapes 2
INSTRUCTOR: ben bires
Serious about painting landscapes? Step it up a notch with this next-level acrylic class that focuses on refining your skills while taking on new challenges. This 4-week class will introduce helpful ways to improve your method of painting by getting a chance to practice a variety of landscapes. Using more techniques, we will learn to “prep” for your painting before applying any paint to canvas. The goal is creating a light, medium and dark value of each color to understand the light source. We'll work on determining the darkest dark and lightest light within the composition. Setting aside time to mix enough paint keeps your palette lasting much longer and avoids having to constantly match colors. We will also pay more attention to brush choice and brushstroke direction to create a variety of textures and movement.
You may bring in your own images to work from, but there will be plenty of printouts to pick from as well. We will involve the class in discussion to give everyone a chance to get some feedback. You could have up to four finished paintings by the end of the month or choose to spend more time with each painting.
Students are encouraged to have taken Intro to Acrylic Landscapes, but all experienced landscape painters are invited to take this class.
All supplies provided with a $25 fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Please bring a smock or wear clothes that can get messy. “Holiday Edition” classes have a $20 supplies fee.
