FLORA FABRICS
FLORA FABRICS STAMP PRINTING
INSTRUCTOR: STEPHANIE MOON
During this one day workshop, you will learn how to create your own stamps that we will use to print designs on fabrics. You will begin by learning how to draw or transfer your ideas onto a soft rubber surface, which you will hand carve into stamps for fabric printing. You can print black designs onto color fabric, or learn to mix your own ink colors using primary colors. Students will be provided with one flat bandana and one cotton tote bag to print their patterns and ideas onto. You are encouraged to bring extra t-shirts and other smoother fabrics to print on. You will leave class with completed fabric projects that are functional and washable. Students can take the skills learned during this workshop to create further projects at home.
MATERIALS
Supply Fee: $25, payable to your instructor at the start of class (includes stamp making materials, inks, a bandana and cotton tote bag)
Students are encouraged to bring additional smooth cotton fabrics to print on, including t-shirts, cotton pencil bags, etc. Heavily textured items like a canvas tote will create a rougher texture.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Stephanie Moon has been creating and teaching in Colorado Springs for the past 15 years. Originally from Michigan, Stephanie developed a deep love of nature and the arts, which is obvious in her work. Stephanie has a BFA in Painting from Western Michigan University, and 15 years of experience teaching both high school and adult students. While Stephanie’s work is characterized by intense color and concentrated mark making, she believes the key to a budding artist’s success is experimentation and the embrace of individual strengths.
Stephanie is a full-time artist whose work you can find in Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Breckenridge and Steamboat. When she is not in the studio creating and teaching, she is probably out hiking or spending time with her husband and red heeler.
