ABOUT ALEXIS FETTERHOFF
I am a newly graduated senior for The Vanguard School. My whole life I have loved art and have been surrounded by it. My family is involved with a lot of textile, painting, and musical arts, but my passion is for photography. In art class, we had a unit over the color theory. Through this unit, my understanding of colors and how they all work together deepened. Color seems like such a simple concept but it is a fascinating thing to an artist. I find it quite beautiful the way colors mix together. This is why my art theme is based on color. Color is all around us so i thought i would make it the star of my pieces.
ABOUT ALEXIS' WORK
COTTON CANDY SKIES
Colorado is such a beautiful state. Every one can appreciate the beautiful natural colors the sky makes every night. The purple and blues remind me of the cotton candy flavored popsicles you get from the ice cream man.
I was actually volunteering for a neighborhood cleanup day at my school when we cam across a large group of these pink flowers. Pink isn't exactly my favorite color but i fell in love with this photo. I fell in love with it so much that it was the first piece I chose to be a part of the show.
This piece was one of my semester final projects in my first photography class. I personally love this photo; it has always been a piece that I have been proud of. Recently, I have decided to dedicate it to my photography teacher, Mr. Jeff Lane, who has recently passed away. He taught me so much about photography and guided me through my projects.
