INTRODUCTION TO WESTERN PAPERMAKING
INSTRUCTOR: ELIZABETH HANSEN
This is a hands-on beginner exploratory workshop that will teach you the basics of Western Papermaking with an emphasis on teaching you how to make paper at home. We will explore recycled paper, cotton, and plant fibers. We spend the first half of the day on set up and pulp preparation. The second half of the day is spent on sheet forming, pressing, drying and clean up. You will have the opportunity to explore the many uses of handmade paper. Expect to go home with your own unique paper, ideas and inspiration!
