INSTRUCTOR: KATHY HUTTON
A three hour work shop where we will learn the 4 basic strokes of Sumi-e (Japanese Ink Painting). We will use various kinds of paper to practice "The Four Gentlemen” — bamboo, flowers, dragonflies, and a simple ink landscape. Parchment, rice paper and watercolor paper will be used for a more finished piece.
Most materials provided with a $10 supply fee. You are invited to also bring: paper of any and every kind (computer, drawing, colored, slick, rough, etc.), any and all soft paint brushes you already have. You may want to buy a #7 round watercolor brush, and a 1" to 2" Hake, or Square brush.
