INSTRUCTOR: RUTH CHANDLER
WEDNESDAYS | JANUARY 6-27 | 6 PM TO 8 PM | $100
Join us in the Thread Lab to learn basic garment construction skills while making a one of a kind skirt.
Week 1 Learn how to read a pattern, and which types of fabric work best for your project, as well as the zippers and other items you may want to add to the skirt to make it uniquely yours. After this session, you'll be ready to shop for what you'll need to bring for next week's class.
Week 2 Cut out fabric for your skirt after making individual changes and fitting.
Week 3 Start to put it all together and learn how to insert a zipper, waistbands, and other basics.
Week 4 Finish it all up! Make all the last minute changes before finishing the hem.
Note: Sewing machine will be needed for weeks 3 and 4. It is important to learn to sew on your own machine but if you do not own one there are 2 machines in the thread lab available for rental for $20 for use throughout the class. Please include a note in your registration letting us know if you intend to bring or rent a machine.
$10 pattern fee payable to instructor on the first day of class.
