inked... skin deep

I have always been fascinated by men and women who adorn their bodies with tattoos. It was never something I had ever considered doing myself. The pain involved with a needle penetrating sensitive areas over and over just doesn’t sound appealing. But to many, young and old alike, it is more than a trendy thing to do. It is a rite of passage for some. For others, it is recreating their bodies into objects of art. I enjoyed meeting with many new people who shared with me their personal stories regarding their body art. Each image tells a different tale from a special and significant point in their lives. I am looking forward to expanding this gallery with more personal stories that each individual is willing to share with the world.

As for me… I have finally decided that it is time to add artistic expression to my own body canvas. Not quite sure what it will be, but it will be part of my on-going story… marked forever in Ink – Skin Deep.

anonymous nudes

As a portrait photographer, I have been photographing both men and women over the years, thus meeting some incredible people. Then one day I decided to simply ask… would you consider allowing me to photograph you nude? Not everyone jumped at the idea, as you might expect. So many people have body issues that are very deep rooted. However, I only saw the beauty… in ALL body types. When I proposed we shoot in a more suggestive way, and keep identities a mystery, more people became intrigued by the idea. The gallery you see is only a small part of a larger multi-part exhibition that is still growing and taking form.
