Artist's Statement
My sculpture is a living reflection of shared life experiences expressed mainly through the figure. I love capturing a feeling or moment in a format beyond words. Combining the figure and clay seems to be the easiest way for me to do this.
Artist's Biography
Marie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1988, majoring in ceramic sculpture. She is a self-employed artist living in Black Forest, Colorado. Intrigued with the beauty of Colorado and themes of the divine feminine, you will see reflected in her sculpture, her relationships as a woman and mother, incorporating expressionistic images from nature and life.
