MAKING A STATEMENT
making a statement
instructor: trinidad Mac-Auliffe
Part One of a Professional Development Series. Your Artist Statement serves as a bridge between your body of work and the people seeing your work—everyone from casual viewers to collectors and gallerists. It's a pivotal entry point, and it is in essence part of the work itself. This four week class will guide you through the process of creating and polishing a fabulous Artist Statement.
We’ll begin by identifying the unifying structure of your portfolio, which is the blueprint that makes your work unique—your “ I Am” as an Artist. This class will focus on the clarity and coherence of your statement, including how your story, your bio, and the concepts/intentions that drive your art all look together with your body of work. Expect to share samples of your art, bring past written examples, and read aloud in a friendly, constructive environment.
After signing up you will receive a welcome email with special instruction on what to bring to your first class.
