LANDSCAPE COMPOSITION IN OIL

LANDSCAPE COMPOSITION IN OIL
INSTRUCTOR: ARUNA RAO

Recommended for people who have had prior oil painting instruction. This class will explore creating a harmonious composition through landscape painting in oil. Students will learn fundamental rules of composition, the importance of value as it relates to the landscape, color mixing, how to show atmospheric perspective, and how to simplify complex detail. We will do this through our in-class work as well as by studying examples by historic and contemporary landscape artists.

This will be an engaging class where students will learn, practice, and apply concepts through multiple small studies done in class. Students can use these studies for creating larger/more ambitious landscape paintings beyond class.
