REGISTER NOW: INTERMEDIATE HANDBUILDING AND HANDBUILT PORCELAIN | MARCH 10-31 ($100)
This class is for students who are familiar with the basic clay handbuilding methods of coiling, pinching, and slab building, but who would like to advance their technique in these areas as well as to develop a more cohesive style throughout their work. Each student will work to develop a small but unified collection of pieces which may range from food functional tableware to more abstract sculptural ceramic vessels. Discussion topics will include 3-D design and ceramic craftsmanship, as well as class critiques. Students will complete projects in both medium-fire clay and porcelain, while instruction in glazing will be kept basic, allowing students to finish their pieces but to remain focused on design and construction.
All materials included with a $25 materials fee payable to the instructor.
