Deirdre Schaneman

Artist's Biography

Deirdre Schaneman is a degreed musician who felt for years that she was chasing someone else's muse. Then, in September 2002, she took a lampworking class to learn how to make glass beads … and she finally found her true medium and creative voice.

Deirdre has been working in molten glass ever since, creating one-of-a-kind lampwork pendants and beads. She accents her glass creations with sterling silver as well as her own peyote stitch work. Bold and colorful, her work is not for the shy!

Deirdre has been fortunate to live on the shores of Lake Michigan and at the foot of Pikes Peak - both endless sources of inspiration in her jewelry. "I strive to make beautiful, unique baubles for beautiful, unique people," says Deirdre of her craft, which blends whimsy and nature into unusual, wearable works of art.
