ART JOURNALING MIXED MEDIA
ART JOURNALING, MIXED MEDIA
INSTRUCTOR: BARBARA WEGENER
In this class, students will engage in self-expression through art journaling. An art journal is a visual diary in which the artist combines images and words in personally meaningful ways. Here the focus is on the process rather than the result, and there are no right or wrong ways to go about it. The "goal" is to play, to explore, to start anywhere and see where the process takes you. Various media and techniques will be presented for practice, and the final 30 minutes of each class will be devoted to group discussion.
Art training, talent or experience are not at all necessary. Use of collage, photos and magazine images, stamps, and so on make art journaling an enjoyable experience regardless of where you are on your art journey.
Students should bring a notebook, sketchbook, or other blank book for their journals. All other needed supplies will be provided, but students may bring any other materials they would like to use. $20 materials fee payable to instructor on the first day of class.
